INSTRUCTIONS

Hello Everyone!!!  This page is dedicated to help those who seem to have ‘technical issues’ with technology.  Here are a few short cuts, tips and tricks on how to maneuver this website and find the information that you need.  I will be updating this frequently depending on the changes made to the website.  Hope this helps 🙂

 

Tabs

  • Please click on the maroon links to view the content.
  • Home Tab
    • The front page contains headlines, updates, forms and a calendar with upcoming/recurring events.
    • This page also contains important forms that you may need.
  • Monthly Message
    • Please click on the link to view the President’s Message and Updates.
  • Reports
    • Please click on the link to view the PDF containing the REA Officer Reports for the month.
  • News
    • This page will contain updates and news about current events.
  • Calendar
    • This page will contain REA, PSEA, RSD, Holidays, Pay Days and other upcoming events.
  • Contact Us
    • This page contains the address of the REA Headquarters, Priscilla’s contact information, Building Rep Contacts and REA Officers contact information.
  • Important Links
    • The icons are links that will take you to the website indicated.

How to Print

  • I know this might sound simple, however sometimes finding the printing features or only printing the specific page/document that you want can be tricky.
  • These are options to help you print:
    • Once you click on the link, it should open a Word Document/PDF File. You can use the shortcut on your keyboard (CTRL and P) or click on the file tab in the document and click on PRINT.
  • There is also a ‘PRINT’ button located throughout the website that you can click on to print that exact page. **Note: If opening a link follow the instructions above. 

 

Forms 

When filling out forms please refer to the following instructions:

  • If you are using Google Chrome:
    • Open the document.
    • Fill out the blue highlighted areas by placing your curser in the box and typing in the information.
    • Once all of the blue highlighted areas are completely filled out, move the cursor towards the bottom right-hand side of the screen.  There will be a box with 6 icons; the second to last is the save icon and the last one is print.
    • Please click on the save icon (second to last) and save it on your desktop/jump drive/folder; whatever you feel most comfortable with.  When you save the document please save it with the following information: name of the document, your name and the date.  (i.e. Sick Leave Bank Application John Doe 10.14.14)
    • Then send the form to Priscilla via email: office@readingea.com
    • If you would like to print a copy for your records please click the print icon (the last one in the box).
  • If you are using Firefox:
    • Open the document.
    • The form will open however, you can’t fill it out in this format.
    • Click on the icon of the paper with a downward pointing arrow (next to the printer icon), this will then open a box.
    • Click on Open With- Click on Adobe Reader and then scroll down and choose Other
    • Click on E-Internet Explorer, press OK (Twice)
    • Fill out the blue highlighted areas by placing your curser in the box and typing in the information.
    • Once all of the blue highlighted areas are completely filled out move the cursor towards the top left corner of the screen and press the save icon (second icon in the row).
    • Save the form on your desktop/jump drive/folder; whatever you feel most comfortable with.  When you save the document please save it with the following information: name of the document, your name and the date.  (i.e. Sick Leave Bank Application John Doe 10.14.14)
    • Then send the form to Priscilla via email: office@readingea.com
    • If you would like to print a copy for your records please click the print icon (the third icon in the row).
  • If you are using Internet Explorer:
    • Fill out the blue highlighted areas by placing your curser in the box and typing in the information.
    • Once all of the blue highlighted areas are completely filled out move the cursor towards the top left corner of the screen and press the save icon (second icon in the row).
    • Save the form on your desktop/jump drive/folder; whatever you feel most comfortable with.  When you save the document please save it with the following information: name of the document, your name and the date.  (i.e. Sick Leave Bank Application John Doe 10.14.14)
    • Then send the form to Priscilla via email: office@readingea.com
    • If you would like to print a copy for your records please click the print icon (the third icon in the row).

 

How to attach a document in an email.

When attaching a document to an email please use the following instructions:

  • If using the RSD Email while connected to the District’s Wi-Fi
    • Open a new email.
    • Click on the paperclip
    • Browse for the document (if you saved it on your desktop it will be there under the name that you saved it under.)
    • Select the Document
    • Complete the email
    • Send
  • If using the RSD Email while connected to a Wi-Fi other than the District’s
    • Open a new email.
    • Click on the Attachments Tab
    • Click on Choose File-Open
    • Click on Attach
    • Click on the Mail Tab
    • Complete the email
    • Send
